ABP is currently supporting a client with the development of a 60,000 ton per annum Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) plant in South Africa. The work being undertaken includes transaction advisory support, EPC insurance structuring and the fund raising for the estimated US$150 million construction costs. This flagship project will be the first privately owned HF/fluorochemicals facility in the Southern Hemisphere and will support Africa’s urbanisation efforts, given the criticality of HF in the production of refrigerants, air-conditioning gases, pharmaceuticals and nuclear energy.
FDI and Private sector investment
ABP and its partners have worked extensively with several governments including the DRC, Liberia, Mozambique Rwanda, Senegal and Zimbabwe on investor mandates to support their attempts to attract FDI and private sector investment. This includes supporting national investment agencies to package, structure and promote projects including infrastructure plays, PPPs, privatisation work on state owned assets. We have access to most of the continents national investment arms and their pressing needs for funding.
